Detectives are investigating a reported shooting at the Mashpee Village Apartments off Old Barnstable Road.
Chief Scott Carline of the Mashpee Police Department said in press statement that they responded to report of a shooting around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night.
Multiple witnesses heard gunshots inside an apartment following a physical altercation outside the residence.
Both the victim and the suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Police secured the area to ensure residents were safe. Police said there is no threat to the public.
Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
