Shark Barrier Protection Request Denied

Chatham voters turned down a spending request to protect an area from great white sharks at town meeting on Tuesday. An article sought one-hundred-thousand dollars for a feasibility study and possible shark detection system or barrier to protect the beach at Oyster Pond. Supporters said it was needed in case the sharks navigate through a river to get there, but opponents said that was farfetched.
