Vineyard Wind Says Progress Is Being Made On Offshore Cable

Officials at Vineyard Wind say the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board has approved 3 separate petitions that will allow them to construct 27 miles of offshore cable for electric transmission lines, as well as a substation planned for Barnstable.

That is what the company is saying. The Siting Board has not posted the decision yet.

With the approvals it means that closing on the deal and construction can begin this year and will be fully operational in 2021.
