12/19/19

The Heroes In Transition Valentine’s fund raiser on Saturday helped to raise 10-thousand dollars that was donated to the Falmouth Service Center’s “FRESH” Market at Joint Base Cape Cod.

The Joint Base market provides food for service members, military families and veterans at the base.

The event, which featured live entertainment, was organized in response to the 35 day partial government shutdown last month which hit families of many agencies, including Coast Guard members and families on Joint Base Cape Cod, very hard financially.

Heroes In Transition also donated 64-hundred dollars in gift cards to the Cape Cod Coast Guard Spouses Association for local supermarkets and pharmacies.

The non-profit Heroes In Transition was founded in 2009 to provide assistance and support to veterans, service members and military families that is not available through other organizations including a canine co-pilot program, an equine therapy program, financial assistance and more.
