A Mashpee man has been arrested for allegedly stealing several flags from the Exit 5 overpass on Route 6. In May, that overpass was dedicated the First Responders Appreciation Overpass.
Alexander McGee, 27, has been charged with injury to a memorial and larceny of property worth less than $1,200.
A witness saw McGee taking the flags and notified police, providing his license plate number.
McGee was released Tuesday night on $250 bail, is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Barnstable District Court.
