Coast Guard Chatham Gets Shallow Water Boat

The Coast Guard Station in Chatham is getting a new boat to navigate shallow waters. Coast Guard officials tell 95WXTK News the boat will help solve the issue of rescuing people on beaches that aren't accessible by vehicle.  The 24-foot vessel comes from the Coast Guard station on Lake Tahoe.

Station Chatham's area of responsibility (AOR) includes Chatham Bar and about 50 miles into the Atlantic Ocean as well as Stage Harbor and the waters of Nantucket Sound west of Monomoy Island.
